The second annual Gondola Sports Summit (May 20-21, 2025) was all about building community in the world of social media. Held in Denver, Colorado, the conference brought together over 500 professionals from across the sports industry, including professional leagues like the NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL, as well as social platforms such as Reddit, TikTok, and Snapchat. The two-day event focused on fostering creativity, collaboration, and community among sports content creators and marketers.

APM Music’s Vice President of Sports Entertainment, Matthew Gutknecht, showcased the latest AI-powered technology on the APM website by conducting live searches in real time. Using industry-leading features such as Sonic Similarity and Prompt Search, the demo illustrated the speed and precision of APM’s search engine, surfacing spot-on results for the audience. Both features are designed to find music quickly and efficiently, saving content creators time while delivering the music they need for their videos.

Throughout the conference, many of the panels shed light on unique areas of social media that, at times, are overlooked and underutilized:
Christine Wixted (Reddit) and Cameron Gidari (MLB) discussed leveraging Reddit as a platform for authentic fan engagement, emphasizing participation over promotion.
Neil Tennant (NHL) and Ashley Atwell (NBA) showcased how the Stanley Cup and Larry O’Brien Trophy have been personified on social media, creating unique brand identities and fan interactions.
Emma Wakely (Snap Inc.), Macenzi McGuire (TOGETHXR), and Treasure Wilson discussed the evolving content strategies in women's sports, noting that revenue in this market surpassed $1B last year and is projected to double in 2025.
APM Music is a proud returning sponsor of the Gondola Sports Summit. It is a one-of-its-kind event that is sure to grow, as social media continues to become a larger part of marketing strategies worldwide.
